S.A.S.H By Night

Promoter: S.A.S.H

Upcoming Events

SASH By Night - The Event Concept S.A.S.H started around March 2011 at the White Horse in Surry Hills followed by the Australian Hotel (Abercombie Hotel), which is now closed. In October 2015, SASH moved to Greenwood Hotel and split their events into "By Day" at Greenwood and "By Night" at Home. ‍ SASH was founded by Kerry Wallace, who is also a resident DJ, and has taken the event around the world to cities uch as Berlin, Ibiza, London, Paris and Bali. Before SASH, Kerry made his name DJ'ing and ran successful events in Ibiza and London. SASH also runs non-Sunday events under the name 'Fix My Sink' at Civic Underground which is a monthly event and had previously owned the historic venue Slyfox hotel in Enmore. According to an interview with [Rave Reviews](https://magazine.ravereviewz.net/interview/kerry-wallace/), Kerry says the name S\*A\*S\*H is a play on M\*A\*S\*H, an old TV Show. ‍ Greenwood Hotel Greenwood Hotel was built in 1878 as a school and turned into a pub in 1992. The exterior of the building is made of old sandstone and looks like a chapel. It looks fucking unreal from the courtyard as the modern skyscrapers sit behind it in the background. In the past few winters, Greenwood has installed a giant igloo in the courtyard (see photo below). All year round, during the day and night, the Greenwood Hotel courtyard is a phenomenal spot. Cruise Bar 2023 SASH has recently moved their by day party to Cruise Bar. ‍ Music and Crowd One of the defining features of SASH Sundays is the minimalist techno music. Minimal vocals and long drawn out, mostly subtle drops and build ups. The music is fitting for daydreaming, getting into a constant groove and socialising. You won't find SASH DJs playing anywhere else on a given Sunday and they are generally well acclaimed. SASH is known for having unbelievable sound quality that is pumped through worldclass speakers. ‍ The crowd is generally mixed. There is a large backpacker presence as SASH is known internationally as one of Sydney's best techno events, but also because backpackers generally don't work Monday's. The age bracket is mostly 18-24 but you'll find a few serious tech-heads enjoying themselves in the mid to back area of the crowd. There is no uniform or style of clothing at SASH, but people generally dress very casually. SASH is more of a subtle event, built on word of mouth and 'if you know you know' but without being pretentious. ‍ SASH is a key player in Sydney Nightlife and is a prerequisite for getting the most out of what Sydney has to offer. Go. ‍
