‍ Newtown Hotel is a staple pub in Newtown. The balcony upstairs and beer garden are very social and consistently. The front area has a stage and drag shows. Compared to other spots in Newtown that close at 4am on weekends, it closes earlier at 1am. ‍ Historically, Newtown Hotel has been an LGBTQ+ friendly venue. In the recent past this was stripped and made in to more of a commercial pub. It has since re-introduced a range of entertainment which is LGBTQ+ orientated. ‍ As such, the crowd attracts this community, but it is far from being this exclusively. There are a range of people that come through. Overall, it tends to be 25-40, and for people looking to go out for a drink and feed, maybe a little bit of a dance, but wrap it up midnight at the latest. ‍
