Meredith Music Festival originated in 1991 as a year-end gathering on the Nolan farm near Meredith, Victoria. Initially attended by approximately two hundred individuals, the event, amusingly dubbed the 'Meredith Music Festival,' featured performances by bands on the back of a truck.
